Your sailing days will be spent doing what you love – needlecraft. Our on-board tuition program offers 66 projects from 22 talented and popular Australian and New Zealand tutors. You’ll enjoy 6 days of classes completing your choice of 3 beautiful projects in our bright and private teaching spaces. 

Classes range from beginners to advanced and include all of the project kits and tuition costs. Whether you’d like to try your hand at something new, improve your skills or just relax and enjoy your passion, you’ll find classes that appeal.

A lively social program accompanies classes. There are Welcome and Farewell events, Show and Tell and exclusive opportunities to shop on-board for your favourite craft supplies from your tutors.

Friends and partners are also welcome as this cruise offers plenty of alternative entertainment to keep them as busy or relaxed as they wish to be for the journey.

Your cruise is fully escorted by Needlework Tours and Cruises – we’re with you all the way, from taking your enquiry, booking your cruise, welcoming you on aboard, managing the tuition program and waving you goodbye as you disembark.

Tuition & Projects

Project details: You may choose one project from the orange section and any two projects from the purple section – three projects totalling six days of tuition. Full descriptions are available on our website.

Class size: All classes are limited to a maximum of 18 students to ensure each student receives personalized attention from the tutor.

Confirmation of classes: Places in classes are allocated in order of payment of the cruise deposit. Soon after paying your deposit to Holiday World Travel P/L, you will receive written confirmation from Needlework Tours P/L of your class bookings. If the class you wish to attend is full, you will need to make another selection. The earlier you book, the more likely you are to get your first preference of classes.

Kits: Your tutors will provide you with a kit for each of your classes. You will be required to bring some basic items for each of your classes. As well, morning and afternoon teas, lunch and non-alcoholic beverages are provided as part of the tuition program.

Cancellations: Should any of the classes receive an insufficient response, Needlework Tours P/L reserves the right to cancel the class. In this case, you will be offered an alternative choice.

Venue: All classes will be held in the ship’s Conference Room and the ship’s formal Dining Room.

Bookings

Bookings are made by completing the online booking form on the Needlework Tours P/L website. Should you need to need to cancel your booking, please refer to our website for applicable conditions for booking cancellations.

Deposit and Payments

A $500 deposit per passenger is required to be paid to Holiday World Travel P/L when booking to guarantee your reservation. Full payment for all travel arrangements is due by the date indicated on your invoice.

The price of any travel related service is not guaranteed until the final balance has been paid and the documents have been issued. Needlework Tours P/L and Holiday World Travel P/L cannot take responsibility for any price increase that may be notified, at any time, by the travel provider.

Holiday World Travel P/L reserves the right to charge 1% for Visa/Mastercard and 3% for Amex/Diners administration/service fees for the balance of payments made by these credit cards. Electronic Funds Transfer is available. Please contact Holiday World Travel P/L for details.

Travel Insurance

You should consider taking out travel insurance as soon as you have paid your deposit. Holiday World Travel P/L can assist you with travel insurance or you may make your own arrangements. The Australian Government website, www.smartraveller.gov.au, advises that “Travel insurance is as essential as your passport, regardless of your travel destination. If you can’t afford travel insurance, you can’t afford to travel!”

19 April: Set Sail from Sydney

Admire the iconic sights of the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Sydney Harbour as we sail out into the blue Pacific.

20 April: Day at Sea & Welcome

Spend your morning exploring the ship and the boundless entertainment choices. Investigate the dining options, live shows, melt away land-based stress with a spa massage or simply relax by the pool. In the afternoon meet your tutors and class mates at our special Welcome Event.

21 April: Brisbane

The cool and casual capital of Queensland offers all the glitz and glam of a big city without the big city airs. This urban oasis sure is easy on the eyes, whether you’re headed uptown, downtown or out of town.

22 April: Class

Get ready for fabulous projects, expert tuition and friendship on the seas! Commence your first class in our spacious and bright teaching spaces.

23 April: Airlie Beach

Explore the spectacular archipelago of the Whitsunday Islands and the aquatic wonders of the Great Barrier Reef or enjoy a day of shopping and exploring in this laidback tropical town. 

24 April: Cairns

Whether you want the thrill of watching a crocodile feeding frenzy or prefer exploring the rainforest, wetlands or more of the reef you’ll find a favourite activity at this port. 

25 April: Port Douglas

So many tours to choose from to explore this magical region’s beach, reef and rainforest delights.

26 & 27 April: Classes at sea

Finish off your first project and then get started on your second project with new class mates. 

28 April: Darwin

A melting pot culture on the cutting edge makes for interesting exploring. Meander the compact downtown, go for a bike ride along the harbor or venture into one of the many bustling open-air markets.

29 April – 1 May: Classes at sea

Relax with a few days enjoying your favourite pastime while heading towards Singapore. Another enjoyable day spent continuing your second project.

2 May: Cruising day

An opportunity to finish off your projects before our Show and Tell and Farewell Event. 

3 May: Singapore

Get on deck early to witness our arrival at the eclectic port of Singapore. It’s mix of cultures, religions, ancient treasures and British colonial impressions that give rise to a unique Singaporean identity, a memorable end to an unforgettable holiday. Say goodbye to new friends as you disembark.

The Windjammer Café is the perfect place to grab a bite to eat before hitting the pool or enjoy a casual dinner to top off a day of adventure. Open almost around the clock, it offers great food, spectacular views and an attentive wait staff, all in a casual atmosphere.

Choose from a wide variety of food and a seemingly never-ending buffet for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks throughout the day. Serving stations offer salads, soups, sandwiches and burgers, meat-carving and hot entrées. And for your sweet tooth, choose from a multitude of cookies, cakes and frozen yogurt.

Jonny Rockets

Good old-fashioned burgers and fries. The Johnny Rockets restaurant you'll find on-board is everything you'd expect from the shore side restaurant - authentic 1950s décor, a menu filled with all-American favourites and, of course, friendly service. Johnny Rockets is a great casual dining alternative that everyone will enjoy.

Cafe Promenade

The Café Promenade features sandwiches, pizza, pastries and popular brands like Seattle's Best Coffee® and, on some ships, Ben & Jerry's® ice cream! Open day and night, it's a great dining option for everything from a quick breakfast to a late-night snack.

Latte-tudes

If you need your caffeine fix to start the day or just want to take a coffee break, head to Latté-tudes - our on-board coffee bar. It's the perfect place to sit down with a frothy latte and a good book, or maybe an after-dinner cappuccino with friends.

Ben & Jerry's

Vermont's Finest Ice Cream is now available in port or at sea! Let one of our friendly staff scoop you a cup or cone of scrumptious Ben & Jerry's ice cream, or indulge in a sundae, shake or smoothie. Everyone loves ice cream between meals - but don't worry, we won't tell if you substitute a waffle cone for breakfast!

Traditional Dining

The world-class food and décor in the main dining rooms makes them the perfect choice for groups both large and small! From heavenly appetizers and entrées to delectable desserts, this is fine dining that everyone can enjoy. And you'll also enjoy an extra special treat when our staff performs parades in the main dining room!

Room Service

Maybe you want to sleep in or just spend a night relaxing in your stateroom; either way, you still have to eat. That's why we offer room service to all our guests for breakfast, lunch and dinner, 24 hours a day (late night service charge applies). Solve the crime over an exquisite multiple course dinner paired with fine wine and fun for all. Dress Attire for Main Dining Room

There will be dress codes as follows:

Royal Caribbean designates different attire for dining in the Main Dining Room on particular evenings – Casual, Smart Casual and Formal.

Suggested guidelines are:

Casual: Polo shirts and trousers for men, sundresses or trousers for women.

Smart Casual: Jackets and ties for men, dresses or trouser suits for women.

Formal: Suits and ties or tuxedos for men, cocktail dresses for women.
